Pain is usually felt under the neck between the shoulder blades and spine. It’s sometimes referred to as shoulder blade pain or upper back pain.
You may feel pain in this area as a strain, a shooting pain, or some type of spasm or crunching when you round your shoulders.

You can sprain or strain your rhomboid muscles by doing any activities that overwork your back, shoulders, and arms, including:
1️⃣ REPETITIVE Sports movements, such as throwing a ball, serving a tennis ball or volleyball🏐 , swinging a golf club, or rowing
2️⃣ Carrying a HEAVY backpack / overuse of one arm carrying heavy shopping bags and handbags
3️⃣ Slouching while you work at a desk or computer
4️⃣ Poor posture
You’re also more likely to strain or sprain the rhomboid muscles if:

2. Your muscles are weak because you haven’t exercised or played in a long time
3. Your muscles are overtired

Deep Tissue or Sports Massage are the most effective methods in treating rhomboid pain. By releasing tension, aiding in mobility and helping to improve overall posture, massage treatments will be sure to help your body bounce back from pain, discomfort and injury.
